My Journey
My journey into plant-based living began in 2017, when my husband was diagnosed with fatty liver disease and prediabetes. As a family of five, we were suddenly faced with important decisions about our health and future.
We dove right into learning, watching documentaries like What the Health, Forks Over Knives, and PlantPure Nation, and explored research on how food impacts chronic disease and overall health. What followed wasn’t an overnight transformation, but a gradual, intentional shift toward a more plant-centered way of eating.
Step by step, we reduced eating meat, eggs, and dairy, minimized processed foods, and steadily increased the variety of whole plant foods on our plates. Over time, we began noticing meaningful improvements.
My husband’s lab markers returned to healthy ranges, his blood pressure stabilized, and his acid reflux went completely away. He began losing weight, and has now lost over 10 lbs pounds.
Our daughters experienced relief from chronic migraines, improved skin, and more balanced moods.
During this time in our lives, I was navigating perimenopause and more recently, menopause. I experienced fewer hot flashes, better sleep, improved mood, and weight loss. In fact, I've lost over 40 pounds postmenopause... a transformation I once thought was impossible.
Witnessing these changes sparked my curiosity about the science behind them. I learned that health isn’t defined by weight alone, and that many adults who appear thin and "healthy" may still face hidden metabolic wellness risks, such as heart disease, pre-diabetes, high blood pressure, or high cholesterol. That inspired me to become a Certified Plant-Based Nutrition Coach, helping others support their health from the inside out.
Through years of learning, experimentation, and real-life application, I discovered how to make a plant-based lifestyle practical, sustainable, and adaptable for me and my family.
I believe healthy eating should fit real life and not require perfection nor isolation from the world and foods you love.
That's why I created PB Thrivestyle™ (Plant-based Thrivestyle™).
Whether you’re exploring plant-based eating for the first time, recommitting after struggling to stay consistent, or simply feeling overwhelmed trying to make it work day-to-day, I understand the challenges, and the possibilities.
It would be an honor to help you build a realistic, manageable path that supports your health and helps you truly thrive.
